Energy Change: It’s Coming!
You’re well aware of all the ‘green’ catch phrases by now.
The word seems to present itself in every form these days. Get used to it!
It’s gonna be here for a while!
We are slowly, but surely moving our ways into an Alternative Energy Economy.
We’ve become familiar with the terms ‘green building’, ‘energy audits’, and ‘carbon footprints’.
But a new age of green buzzwords is emerging that carry even more meaning than their predecessors.
This new economy carries with it economic and social implications of which the world has never seen before.
Alternative and renewable energy is going to play such a large role going forward. The Alternative Energy Economy is something people seriously need to wake up to.
Why should you care?
Simple. Decreasing our reliance on oil—both foreign and domestic-could start to inject some of the $1 trillion or more we spend on the stuff every year back into our economy.
Let’s be real though, we won’t become oil independent overnight, but every barrel saved is a deposit in the collective domestic piggy bank.
This is the first pillar of an alternative energy economy.
We need to make our economy run on 25% renewable power compared to today’s 6% in the next few years. Very doable, now that President Obama will be taking the office come January.
This is the second step. Getting a government in place that will actually make a change.
So what’s left?
The people!
Migrating from ideas to action and seeing real change, progress, and results.
Free market initiative combined with government oversite and support will lead to renewed and sustained investment and the creation of jobs.
But we as a society can’t wait for the government to kick our hind ends into gear, it is up to the American people (and other societies) to be PROactive instead of REactive.
What can we as individuals start doing NOW to prevent panic and huge expenses in the future?
We take it one step at a time.
There’s no need to rush….not yet at least.
Becoming an Alterative Energy Economy means becoming a Free Energy Economy!
So get going you green lovin’ society.
